NCS Recruitment 2026 Shortlisted Candidates
Successful Candidates will be appointed as recruits, undergo nine (9) months of basic training at the Lucius S Mahoto Correctional Service Training in Omaruru, and after successful completion of the Training, will be appointed as Correctional Officers 1.
Applicants must note that their appointments are subject to a positive outcome of security vetting, qualification Verification, medical fitness, and criminal Record checks and experience confirmation (where Applicable).

- Should have a clean record and attach a motivation letter and basic training certificate.
- Must be prepared to be appointed as a correctional officer I (COI), Irrespective of the previous rank.
- Now have been convicted of any offence or have a pending case under Schedule 1.
- Be prepared to be deployed at any correctional institution in Namibia.
- Be free from mental or physical Defects.
Namibian Correction Services Key Responsibilities:
- Controlling and monitoring offender movements within the assigned work area.
- Conduting formal and information headcounts of offenders to ensure that each offender is present.
- Inspecting incoming items for the presence of prohibited articles.
- Providing direct support to inmates with respect to schedule rules and behavioural requirements.
